USPS adding self-driving trucks to fleet

The U.S. Postal Service plans to have semiautonomous trucks driving for its mail fleet within seven years, the agency said this week, as it looks for ways to cut costs and automate its massive delivery system.

“That’s all according to the postal service’s Office of the Inspector General, which oversees the agency and last week released a report on its plans to work autonomy into its 228,000-vehicle fleet,” Wired reports.
